Privacy notice.

Alicia Law website (alicia.law) · Effective date: 21 July 2026

About this notice.

This notice explains how JLEC Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), trading as Alicia Law, collects and uses personal data through our marketing website at alicia.law (the “Website”).

It covers the Website only. The Alicia platform at app.alicia.law is covered by a separate privacy notice and, where we process a law firm’s data on its behalf, by a data-processing agreement entered into with that firm.

For the purposes of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018, JLEC Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through the Website. We are registered with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC).

What we collect.

  • Enquiries you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, firm, email address and the content of your message.
  • No tracking. The Website sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no third-party trackers. The ROI calculator runs entirely in your browser; the figures you enter are not transmitted to us or stored.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider processes standard web-server information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the Website. We do not use this to identify individual visitors.

How we use your data, and our lawful basis.

We use the details from your enquiry solely to respond to it and to correspond with you about the Alicia service.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries about our business and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Who we share it with.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and appropriate safeguards:

  • our website hosting provider, which serves the Website and processes technical and access data; and
  • Microsoft, which delivers contact-form enquiries to our mailbox.

We may also disclose data where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

International transfers.

Some of our providers process data outside Jersey, including in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and the United States. Where personal data is transferred, we rely on adequacy decisions and/or appropriate contractual safeguards to protect it.

How long we keep it.

We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and any related follow-up, and then delete it — unless we need to retain it to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Your rights.

Under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability, in each case subject to the conditions and exemptions in the Law.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team@alicia.law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC) at jerseyoic.org.

Changes to this notice.

We may update this notice from time to time. The version published on the Website is the current one, and the effective date is shown above.
